Forrage
You must have often asked yourself if we can eat grass, when you look at a garden full of fresh, green grass, right?
Well, you will find out that we can eat grass!
In fact, grass is grass and hay is a kind of grass, in other words, you give us grass every day, only dry and not fresh.
It can also be called forage, as we are foragers, we like to eat forage, in other words, this type of grass that is found in gardens and fields.
Grass contains a lot of nutrients, fibre and has many vitamins which are very good for our health and help digestion, it also has silica which is very good to help wear our teeth.
It is clear that it is different to eat fresh grass than dry grass (hay) and it is not advisable to eat only fresh grass, we have to vary it as much as possible.
That is why including forage in our daily diet is an added value for us, so we can have an even more balanced diet, there are nutrients in fresh grass that there will never be in dry grass, so being able to eat both will allow us to get the most out of them.
It is very important to know where it comes from or how it is treated the grass that we eat, it can not have chemicals or pesticides, because that is poisonous for us, we also can not eat grass that has been cut mechanically that spoils the grass, causes it to ferment and makes it unsuitable for us to eat, Another point to have in attention is the pee and poop of other animals that can exist in the grass, can have bugs that make us bad to the belly or in the case of cats if they have toxoplasmosis is fatal for us, (see here if you want) so good grass, without chemicals and well washed.
If you want you can plant our own grass, I mean, your own hay and when it grows and is very green just let us eat.
In fact we can eat almost any type of grass, if you have any doubts, Timothy, oats, coast cross or orchard grass are types of grass that we can eat, but that you humans are only used to seeing as hay and it is also not very common to have it in gardens.

You weren't expecting that, were you?
We can eat that much grass or weed.
One piece of advice I give you is to take all these names and look for pictures to see what they are all about, don't forget that we only eat the stalks and the leaves or flowers in some cases.
You can try to see if there are seeds in a shop and plant them at home, this way there will always be good, fresh grass to eat.
Attention!
Cat's Weed is not good for us.
We must not eat this herb.
